Great News – Max now has a home!
It takes a special person to take on a poorly dog needing special daily care, and, who may even be terminally ill.

Please note that Max now has a loving foster home. He is quite ill and needs a large tumour removing from his neck to prevent him from choking to death. If it turns out to be cancerous then he will live only for the next 4 – 6 months, but his foster Mum is fully aware of this and just wants to give him love and care for the rest of his days. We believe he deserves the best chance of a happy ending and I am fundraising his vet care as a seperate issue, so as not to add to LA’s large debt with the vets. If you can help please message me. Sadly, this Wednesday Max deteriorated, and was struggling to breathe. I took him to Hospivet where they kept him sedated after diagnosing that the tumour was growing quickly and obstructing his airway. Yesterday, Thursday the 30th June, vet Cesar attempted to remove the tumour and also some of the tongue, also affected. However, the tumour surrounded the jugular vein making this an impossibility. I went into the operating room and Cesar administered a drip of something to stop Max´s heart. Although he was unconscious and unaware of his surroundings I held him as he passed away, just so he was with someone who cared at the end. I am so sad that Max, after a lifetime of neglect, finally found happiness in the last week of his life. I hope he knew that he was loved at the end.
A million thanks to Cesar, and all at Hospivet who give so much and never give up until all hope is lost, and of course to Amber who was willing to adopt him knowing he had little time.
