Live Arico Animal Protection has been working hard for many years to protect the abused dogs here on the Island of Tenerife. Really, the Association was created on the 14th February 2000, but the first dog rescued, an Alsatian cross was on the on the 5th January 1997. Junior´s rescue started Eugenio on the path to creating the refuge which has now helped over 5000 mistreated and abandoned dogs.
Live Arico has answered and solved animal problem for the local councils, Police, Fire Fighters and Road Conservation, and continues to do so. We participate in Educational Programs and give informative talks on animal care and protection. We are also members of FECAPAP (Federacion Canaria de Asociacion Protectoras de Animales y Plantas). All this work is done in the hope that the problems here on the Island will, in time be reduced and that people will act more responsibly towards their pets, this is the only way forward. The only way is to educate, to change the attitude of people towards the welfare of animals, they have the same right to a decent life as we do.
